This is probably the appropriate time for this article ( it's on the time line ?? ;) ). Time & agian I've told people that i dont like the time line. Why should we try to fit everything into the time line ? When ur 16 should have done this this and that and when ur 25 ....
I've been reading R K Narayans awefully a lot these days .. in one of his books ( the English Teacher) he talks about the concept of time for the departed souls. He talks about his wife ( she is dead) & that for them there is no concept of time- in the sense that there is no gap between thought & action. Actually , thats pretty vague stuff , especially from Narayan . Anyway , I digress ( i've been sitting through a lot of lectures of Dr Sair ;) ) .
Life we be a lot simpler and less presurizing if we did not try to fit in everyhting we do / want to do into the time line . After all time is something we invented ourself , how do you know that one second is one second after all ? It's been defined so.
Hope everybody has a good year ahead and is able to fit in all their wishes,hopes and desires into the time line 2007 ( i dont mean to be sarcastic .. it's just that i find the whole idea very graphically appealing ). Amen :)

probably this is why i gave up having wishes,hopes and desires -- the pressure of pursuing them was too much to handle. now i find another cousin with similar sentiments!
even if 1 sec was not 1 sec, 1 year not 1 year and 1 decade not a decade,,our lives are only as long as we live!

It is you who chooses to be pressurised by the time line! remember you always have the power of choice for anything in life!
I don't think having no desires, hopes or wishes is the solution, it is how you deal with disappointment if they go unfulfilled that matters! (apna apna nazarya hai!!)

as for ur theory about the power of choice, u will find my criticism in ur own blog.
i dealt with the last bit of disappointment in my life by writing a blog about it -- does that satisfy the sensibilities of ur superior self? now i am really hope-less and i am loving it :-)

Blogger aka Anu - Ur absolutely right - we will live only as long as we r destined to . Choice is also an illusion ; as in u only have the illusion of making it.( matrix 1 ?? ;) ) But this isn't about choice.

Sorry abt my delayed response .. holidays seem busier than normal days ! I'm not clear on why we would choose not to get pressurized by the timeline . If we dont want to get pressurized by it ( i.e by choice ) then why would we even draw one in the first place ?
for the same reason that we choose numbers, letters and hundred other things..
but even with all that ..u can choose not to use them or be bogged down by them..
but then ...there is always another villain ..reality..
